The Lords of September

Take the journey with me from a kid in a small farming community in the Midwest to the jungles of Southeast Asia, where I am proud to say I served with the U.S. Army Special Forces. Follow me as I share some of my own personal experiences during the war in Vietnam; some funny, others not so.

I was educated in Catholic school and I must give the nuns credit for saving my life. After all, dodging the yardstick was not much different than dodging bullets. When the war ended, I moved to Nevada where I attended the university. I am married and now living in Florida with my wife and three small dogs. I am proud of the young men and women of today who have put their lives on hold for this great country of ours. Many have returned, others were not so fortunate.

If you find yourself on any of these pages, know that all of us have experienced the same things: the fear of not coming home alive, fighting for survival and watching as our friends fell around us. Hold no animosities, they will destroy you. Keep your emotions in check and never the forget the sacrifice.
