Publishing Process FAQs
What different types of books do you offer?
Hardcovers
Paper, fabric, or leather covers the hardcovers’ exterior shell, which is made of a hefty binder board that resembles stiff cardboard. They typically have a flexible spine that allows for the flattened placement of an opened book. Hardcovers are more expensive to produce than paperbacks, but they are more durable.
Paperbacks
Books with heavy paper stock on the outside are called paperbacks. They have a stiff spine that must be broken to lay flat because the pages are typically glued into the cover. As a result, they lack the durability of hardcovers but are lighter and less expensive.
eBooks
Digital books, also known as eBooks, are books in an electronic format. This more recent format is distinguished by the electronic devices it uses, including desktops and mobile devices. Some of these formats allow readers to change text sizes or highlight passages.
Audiobooks
From tape and CD books to digital audio files, audiobooks have advanced. Although they necessitate a book’s publication, they can introduce authors to new readers and provide readers with novel experiences.
How long will publishing my book take?
At Fulton Books, we believe in partnering with our authors. We concentrate on doing it correctly while keeping our author’s availability and happiness in check. Most authors have their books available through major print and online distribution channels within six to eight months. A maximum of 10 months is our goal.
Is a literary agent required?
Before reviewing your work, most traditional publishers demand that you have a literary agent. The literary agent will submit your manuscript to publishers. Without an agent, more than 95% of manuscripts are flatly rejected and considered unsolicited.
We don’t require you to have a literary agent before signing with us. However, you will have to go through our manuscript review process.
I’m already published, but I want to use Fulton Books. Can I?
We will republish your previously published work as a second edition if you continue to hold the rights to it. Additionally, we can fix any mistakes made during the previous publication process and, if necessary, redesign the cover or launch a more robust publicity campaign to help you improve your book.
